Lady Raiders have veteran laden team

With virtually the entire team returning, Barker is taking aim at making a strong run at the Niagara-Orleans League softball title this spring.
Leading the Lady Raiders large veteran contingent are returning first team N-O All-League selections senior first baseman Lilly Monthony and freshman pitcher Peyton Bradley, second team honorees senior shortstop Mia Herman and junior catcher Anna Bowerman and Honorable Mention selections junior outfielder Rachel Sutter and junior pitcher Natalie Brandel.
The Lady Raiders also return senior Aaliyah Wheat (second base), juniors Samantha Murphy (outfield), Petra Bish (outfield) and Cole Carnes (utility)and freshman Kaylee Stoll (third base/catcher).
“We’ve got a large returning group and it’s a young group,” said Coach Aileen Gilbert. “Our pitching and hitting are strong so we’re looking for a good season.”
Barker has seven non league games scheduled, beginning against Holley on Wednesday, before opening the N-O season at home against Albion on April 12.
