The frigid weather, which caused the Medina schools to close today, has resulted in a rescheduling of the Mustangs boys and girls basketball games against Albion which were slated for this evening.

The Medina boys squad will now visit Albion Saturday afternoon with the JV game at 2 p.m. and the varsity contest at 3:30 p.m.

The contest is a key one in the Niagara-Orleans League title race as Medina at 9-2 trails front-running Wilson (10-1) by just a game while Albion is in third place at 7-4. The Mustangs and Purple Eagles are also currently third and fourth in the seedings for the upcoming Section VI Class B1 playoffs.

The Mustangs nipped the Purple Eagles 60-59 in the earlier season meeting at Medina.

The Medina girls team will host Albion on Monday with the JV game at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity contest at 6 p.m.

The chilly temps, which also caused the closing of Roy-Hart, Barker, Newfane and Wilson schools, has resulted in the following rescheduled contests.

In the other N-O boys varsity makeup games Wilson will host Barker at 12:30 p.m. Saturday and Roy-Hart will visit Newfane at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

In other N-O girls varsity makeups Barker will host Wilson at 12:30 p.m. Saturday and Roy-Hart will entertain Newfane at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

In addition, the Notre Dame at Lyndonville Genesee Region League girls game has been rescheduled for Wednesday (4:30 p.m. JV, 6 p.m. varsity).

Tonight’s Kendall at Holley G-R girls game (7 p.m.) is still on as is the Lyndonville at Oakfield-Alabama G-R boys contest (7 p.m.).
