Seven pins keyed Albion to a 42-39 victory over visiting Barker/Roy-Hart this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League make-up wrestling match.

Aaron Burnside (145), the only senior in the Albion lineup, set the tone for the Purple Eagles on Senior Night by scoring a meet opening pin over Will Jensen in 3:17.

Barker/Roy-Hart briefly retied the match at 6-6 as DJ Gardner (152) scored a pin over Jessy Cruz in 2:55.

However, Albion answered right back with a burst of four straight pins to regain the lead for good at 30-6.

Tyler Nashburn (160) started that string by scoring a fall in 4:35 over Joe Nolan.

Israel Florentino (170) then rallied from a 6-3 deficit to score an exciting pin with only four seconds remaining over Elias Eaton.

Keeping the momentum, the Purple Eagles then got a pair of first period pins as Tim Drake (182) bested Erik Herian in 1:05 and Merlin Moyer (195) topped Adam Mikall in 1:37.

Two forfeit wins pulled Barker/Roy-Hart back to within 30-18 but Albion got those 12 points right back on back-to-back pins by Cade Aina (106) over Aaron Miller in 5:40 and by Preston Flugel (113) over Murphy Lang in 1:04 to stretch the advantage to 24 points at 42-18.

Barker/Roy-Hart did take the final four bouts on a second period pin by Brent Bachman (120), a decision win by Dan Wheeler (132), a forfeit and an injury default but could not overcome the 24 points.

Albion finishes the dual match portion of the N-O season at 3-2 and Barker/Roy-Hart at 2-3.
