Hawks gain first victory in thriller

Snapping a season long eight game losing stark, Holley nipped visiting Wheatland-Chili 43-42 this evening in a Genesee Region League boys basketball game.
A free throw by Nick Passarell with 20 seconds remaining, which snapped a 42-42 deadlock, provided the margin of victory for Holley.
Passarell and Dylan Hillabush both tallied 5 in the decisive final period for the Hawks.
Holley led 42-40 on a bucket by Hillabush but W-C answered with the equalizer on a tally by Justin McClendon.
Hillabush finished with a total of 18 points, Passarell 14 and Derek McArthur 7. Hillabush also grabbed off 10 rebounds.
Trailing 21-18 at the half, Holley got 5 points from McArthur and 4 from Hillabush in the third period to keep the contest tight.
