Playoffs next for Albion Midget League

Albion Midget League playoff action will get underway at 6 p.m. Tuesday as top seed Sandstone hosts No. 4 Rotary and No. 2 Carlton entertains No. 3 Elba in the semifinals.

The championship game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday.

In the regular season finales this past week, Sandstone rallied to down Carlton 13-3, Carlton rebounded to defeat Elba 18-8 and Rotary bested Barre 14-0.

A big 8 run fourth inning rally highlighted by two-run doubles by Omer Fugate and Eli Johnson keyed Sandstone’s comeback win.

Fugate, Johnson and Drew Pritchard each finished with a pair of hits.

Noah Kowalski had 3 hits and Corbin Piccirilli a two-run single for Carlton.

In Carlton’s win over Elba Kowalski and Gavin Boyce both had 3 hits including a pair of doubles and Jax Gotte a three-run home run.

Rotary was led by Skyler Sanders and Evan Coots both with 2 hits.

Tyler Siebert and Victor Snyder also both had 2 hits for Barre.

Final Regular Season Standings: Sandstone 12-0, Carlton 6-5, Elba 4-7-1, Rotary 4-7, Barre 2-9-1.
