Medina High graduates Class of 2022 numbering 99 in ceremonies at Vets Park

Photos by Cheryl Wertman – Ninety nine Medina High senior received their diplomas in ceremonies at Vets Park this evening.

A large crowd nearly filled the grandstand for the ceremonies which where held on a warm, sunny evening.

Salutatorian Hayden Woodroe, who will be majoring in Physical Education at SUNY Brockport, and Valedictorian Kaylee Lacey, who will be a Pharmacy major at the University at Buffalo,  delivered the commencement addresses. Woodroe’s speech was entitled “Live Your Life” and Lacey’s “The Essence of Time.”

Leading the graduates into the ceremonies was the traditional daisy chain comprised of the top 16 girls and the top two boys in the Junior Class. The Daisy Chain tradition dates back to 1922.

Addressing the crowd were High School Principal Michael Cavanagh, left, and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark Kruzynski.

The item all of the graduating seniors were most anxious to receive – their diploma.

The scoreboard welcomes the crowd to the graduation ceremonies and was also used to show the commencement speeches.
