Banes, Meadworks score twin bill sweeps
Banes and 810 Meadworks/Hemp House both scored doubleheader victories in Medina Women’s Softball League action Monday evening.
Banes downed Jr. Wilson 1 by scores of 17-5 and 22-10 and Meadworks bested NYSCOPBA 17-8 and White Birch 16-4.
Banes 17, Jr. Wilson 1 5
Lindsey Chatt, Jami Chatt, Amy Allis and Grace Masse each had 3 hits for Banes which erupted for 8 quick runs in the first inning. Masse’s hits included a home run, Allis’ a triple and Lindsey Chatt’s 2 doubles. Robin Blaun and Kathy Allen also both had doubles.
Jr. Wilson’s scored four runs in the first on singles from Lizzy Zacher, Jaclyn Guzdek, Sara Flansburg, and a double from Sharon Korzelius. Their only other run came in the top of the fifth on a single from Korzelius who drove in Jessica Rosenbeck from third after a stand up triple. Flansburg finished the game 2-2 with 1 run scored, and Korzelius went 3-3 with a double and one run scored.
Banes 22, Jr. Wilson 1 10
Lindsey Chatt had 4 hits including a double and home run for Banes which erupted for 7 runs in the first inning and 6 in the third. Connie Heschke, Sue Seefeldt and Jami Chatt 3 and Blaun, Amy Allis, Rileigh McCabe, Morgan Allis and Grace Masse 2 each.
Jr. Wilson’s scored two runs in the bottom of the first. on a double by Guzdek and a single by Flansburg. In the bottom of the third, Jr. Wilson’s scored seven more runs to cut the deficit to six as Flansburg hit a three run homer, Kaitlyn Miller a two-run triple, and Michele Crandall an RBI double. Chas Chinn, Jaclyn Guzdek, Flansburg and Bri Guzdek each finished with 3 hits.
810 Meadworks/ Hemp House scores sweep
In game 1, 810 Meadworks/HempHouse against NYSCOPBA starting off on hitting streak in the first inning. Melissa Prince, Halle Deuil, Kelsey Schmitt and Jen Merle each finished with 3 hits.
In game two White Birch got a quick start scoring 2 in the first inning but 810 Meadworks/HempHouse answered back with hits by Prince, Randi Scholes, Alishia Foss, and Cathy Schmitt.
810 Meadworks/HempHouse pulled away in the fourth and fifth inning with big hits by Merle, Bridget Tower, Heather Tower and Jean Swiercznski. Cathy Schmitt had the winning hit that scored Foss to seal the game. Prince and Heather Tower finished with 3 hits and Swiercznski 2.
810 Meadworks/HempHouse plays Banes next week for a doubleheader starting at 6 p.m.
