Purple Eagles complete sweep of Lakemen

Completing a home-and-home series sweep, Albion downed visiting Wilson 11-3 in a Niagara-Orleans League game this afternoon.

Dallas Ecker went the distance on the mound for Albion scattering 6 hits and striking out 5 while Amari Jones and Javon Jones each banged out three hits to lead the offense.

Leading by a narrow 5-3 margin, the Purple Eagles put a lock on the win by erupting for 6 runs in the sixth inning as Amari Jones, Jacob Hughson and Brendan Lebaron each had an RBI single.

Albion is now 3-4 and Wilson 2-6 in N-O action.

Newfane 3, Akron 2

Newfane nipped Akron 3-2 as Brady Harrington pitched a complete game with 8 strikeouts.

At the plate for the Panthers, Gerhig Wilson had 2 hits and 2 RBIs and scored the winning run on a single by Tyler Baes.

The loss drops Akron to 6-3 and two games behind front-running Roy-Hart (6-1) while Newfane improves to 2-6.

In a Genesee Region League game Oakfield-Alabama downed Holley 8-3.
