Albion to host Medina in special softball game

Medina will visit rival Albion for a special Niagara-Orleans League softball game at 7:15 p.m. Monday. The event will be Albion’s ‘Strike Out Cancer Game’.

The softball boosters will be collecting donations at the game to be donated to the Knights-Kaderli Fund, a local organization that helps those who are fighting cancer.

The players will be wearing special t-shirts at school and pre-game on Monday and those attending the game will have an opportunity to fill out a card with the name of someone who they are “going to bat for,” honoring those who are battling, have battled, or who have lost their life to the disease.

The Medina baseball squad will also visit Albion for a key N-O contest at 4:45 p.m. Monday.

The Mustangs will then face a key home and home series against undefeated front-running Roy-Hart on Wednesday (at Gasport) and on Friday (at Medina).

Roy-Hart is currently in first place at 4-0 while Medina is 4-1 and Akron 5-1.

Albion will also host Medina in an N-O track meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
