Mustang stickmen even score with Lions
Avenging a season opening 10-7 loss, Medina defeated Lockport by a nearly identical margin of 10-6 in a non league lacrosse game at Vets Park this afternoon.
Cayden Lilleby scored 5 goals to lead the Medina attack. Josh Wilson added 2 as Zaric Boyce, Dylan Lonnen and Jacob Rissew each chipped in with 1.
Medina grabbed a 3-2 first quarter lead on a pair of goals by Wilson and one by Lilleby.
The Mustangs upped the advantage to 6-3 at the half as Lilleby, Lonnen and Rissew took turns scoring goals in the second quarter.
Lockport did make things interesting by rallying back to within one at 6-5 by outscoring the Mustangs 2-0 in the third period.
However, the Mustangs answered the challenge by outscoring the Lions 4-1 in the final period to lock up the victory.
Lilleby led that surge with 3 goals as Boyce added 1.
Now at 3-4 overall, Medina next visits Grand Island in another non league contest at noon on Saturday.
