Fast start powers Raiders past Tigers

A big first quarter scoring surge sparked Barker to a 66-39 victory over host Lyndonville in a non league boys’ basketball game this evening.

Barker raced out to a 22-6 first quarter lead. Brad Cantrell scored 12, including a pair of threes, to lead that uprising which also included threes by Aidan Voss and Nathan Meza Ray and a pair of baskets by Aidan Mescall.

The Raiders maintained a 32-19 lead at the half as Steven Class scored 6 in the second period.

Barker held a 15 point, 46-31, advantage at the three-quarter mark as Mescall scored 8 in the third period including a three and a three-point play.

Cantrell finished with 18 and Mescall 14 to lead the Raiders as Class added 8, Voss 7, Meza Ray and Jaret Black 6 and Dawson Donovan 3.

Noah Poler took game high honors for Lyndonville with 27 including 16 in the first half. Trenton Muck added 7, Mohammed Mohameeer 3 and Jimmy Poler 2 for the Tigers.
