Medina and Albion split in N-O swim meet

Medina and Albion both came away with a victory during a Niagara-Orleans League swim meet this afternoon at Medina.

Medina captured the boys’ meet 112-45 to stay unbeaten at 3-0.

Albion took the girls’ competition 95-50 to improve to 2-1.

Michael Marker doubled in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke and Isaac Pace in the 200 Individual Medley and 500 Freestyle and Jaxon Phillips took the 200 Free to lead the way for the Seahorses. Marker and Bryson Costich were both on the winning 200 Medley and 400 Free Relays.

Finn McCue was a double winner for Albion in the 50 Free and 100 Free as Jeffrey Brown took the 100 Breaststroke.

The Albion girls got individual event wins from five different swimmers as Julia Fuller took the IM, Hannah Pahura the 50 Free, Mia Olles the 100 Free, Clara Bolton the 500 Free and Willow Gaines the 100 Breaststroke.

The Purple Eagles also swept all three relays. Autumn Flugel was a member of all three as Gaines, Pahura and Olles were each on two.

Maddy Satkowski won the 200 Free and Madelynn Rutledge the 100 Backstroke for Medina.

The defending champion Roy-Hart boys stayed even with Medina atop the N-O standings at 3-0 by defeating host Akron 105-63.

Charles Rickard won the 200 Free, Zach Livergood the 50 Free, Andrew Ossont the Breaststroke and Sean Labiak the 500 Free for the Channel Cats.

Akron downed Roy-Hart in the girls meet 87-73.

Amanda Hill was a double winner for Roy-Hart in the 100 Free and 100 Breaststroke.

Albion’s Willow Gaines in route to a win in the 100 Breaststroke.
