Ending a long 16 year drought, Medina bested host Barker 3-2 in overtime in a Niagara-Orleans League field hockey game this morning.

Iyla Lilleby scored the game winning goal for Medina seven and a half minutes into the 10 minute overtime period off an assist from Penelope Schalck.

The victory was Medina’s first over Barker since 2005.

Lydia Fox and Baileigh McAdoo each scored a goal for Medina during regulation time as did Keira Dalton and Rachel Sutter for Barker.

The contest was tied 1-1 at the half.

The Lady Raiders had nipped the Mustangs 1-0 in their earlier season meeting.

Barker is now 8-3 and Medina 7-4 in N-O action.

Medina will visit Roy-Hart and Barker will host Newfane on Monday to close out the N-O season.
