Medina scores three wins at Tri Town
Medina had a big day at Tri Town Saturday in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) action winning three of four games.
Beginners Division
Medina Ponys 27, Tri Town Trojans 0
The Ponys got off to a fast start as Zach Allen scored on an 8 yard run and Luke Hungerford tallied on a 32 yard pickup. Damareon Shine and Allen added the extra point carries.
The Ponys lead increased to 21-0 at the half on a 57 yard TD run by Shine and an extra point by Allen in the second quarter. Shine also scored the final touchdown with an 8 yard run in the fourth quarter.
Mini Division
Tri Town Trojans 38, Medina Colts 18
Ja’Keir Taylor scored on runs of 90 and 33 yards and Marcel Lamar on a 3 yard carry for the Colts which trailed 13-6 at halftime.
JV Division
Medina Broncos 37, Tri Town Trojans 0
The Broncos jumped out to a quick two touchdown lead as Caliyah St. Louis scored on runs of 73 and 18 yards as Zach Graham passed to Jude Lacey for a two-point conversion. Lacey also had touchdown runs of 38 and 46 yards and a pair of two-point conversions in the second quarter to make it 30-0 at the half.
St. Louis scored the Broncos lone second half touchdown on a 10 yard run and Zahkius Chinn added the extra point run.
Varsity Division
Medina Stallions 41, Tri Town Trojans 0
Preston Woodworth hooked up with Tre Shine for two long touchdown passes and a two-point conversion gave the Stallions an early 14-0 lead.
A 45 yard TD run by Colton Fletcher, a Woodworth to Christian Moss scoring pass and a Shine two-point conversion upped the lead to 30-0 at the half.
In the second half, Jaden Cecchini scored on a 3 yard run and Malik Lamar on an 8 yard scamper to round out the Stallions scoring.
