Line of strong thunderstorms headed to Orleans could bring hail
The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a special weather statement with a line of strong thunderstorms moving towards southwestern Orleans, northwestern Genesee and northeastern Erie counties.
Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail are possible with these storms, along with brief torrential downpours, the Weather Service said.
Locations impacted include Lockport, Medina, Albion, Newfane, Pendleton, Lewiston, Youngstown, Middleport, Oakfield, Fort Niagara State Park, Sanborn, Ridgeway, Shelby, Gaines, Alabama, Wilson, Elba, Cambria Center and Pendleton Center.
