Albion boys win 10 events at All-League meet
The Albion boys track team enjoyed a huge day as the Purple Eagles took first place honors in 10 events at the annual Niagara-Orleans All-League track meet held today at Wilson.
Chris Shabazz was a triple winner in the Long Jump, High Jump and Triple Jump and Dominic DiGiulio doubled in the Shotput and Discus to lead the parade of Albion’s individual event winners. That group also included Tony Freeman in the 400 Hurdles, Reuben Rivers in the 3200 and Alex Zaczek in the Pole Vault.
The Purple Eagles also won the 400 Relay with the foursome of Freeman, Shabazz, Auston Johnson and Ozzie Matos and the 1600 Relay with the quartet of Freeman, Matos, Junior Morales and Shkwe Riley.
The Albion girls had Bri Haines win the Pole Vault and Honesty Little the High Jump.
Arian Cayea won the 1600 and Devin Griffin the Pentathlon for Medina.
Roy-Hart’s Nadia White was a double winner in the 400 and Triple Jump.
The Akron girls had a pair of double winners as Lauren Wagner doubled took the 800 and 1500 and Beila Asmus the Shotput and Discus.
Newfane’s Ashlin Joseph won both the 100 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles.
The Newfane girls, which swept all three relays, also had Gina Shorter win the 100, Ainsly DeBiase the 200, Kylie Bowman the 3000 and Mel Myers the Long Jump.
The Wilson boys had Jared Jacques win the 100 Hurdles and Paul Smith the 100.
The Newfane boys had Dakoda Baker win the 200, Deuce Capen the 400 and Connor Puzzacree the 800.
