Banes, Jr. Wilson 1 score softball wins

Banes outscored White Birch 19-15 in Medina Women’s Softball League action Monday evening.

Leading the offense for Banes were Jen Masse with four doubles, Sue Seefeldt with 4 hits including a double and Rileigh McCabe with 3 hits including a double.

For White Birch, Aubrey Lewis had 3 hits and Alex Harling 2.

Setting the tone for the high scoring contest, Bane’s scored three runs in the first inning on a single by Seefeldt and doubles by Connie Heschke and Masse and an error and seven more in the third on singles by Seefeldt, Robin Blaun, Kathy Allen, McCabe and doubles by Masse.

White Birch scored five in the fifth highlighted by singles by Lewis and Harling.

Banes capped off the win by scoring three times in both the sixth and seventh innings. Heschke and Blaun both had singles and Masse and Seefeldt doubles in the sixth. Amy Allis, Patti Page and Kim Cervone then all had singles and McCabe a double in the seventh.

Jr. Wilson’s 1 20, Hojack 4

Jr. Wilson’s 1 beat Hojack’s 20-4 in five innings Monday night to go 2-0 in Medina Women’s Softball League play.

Jr. Wilson’s 1 got off to a hot start scoring nine runs in the top of the first. Michele Crandall knocked a three-run homer to right center to highlight the inning.

Hojack’s answered back with 2 runs in the bottom of the second inning on a double from Marian Gerhardy.

  Jr. Wilson’s 1 tacked on six runs in the top of the fourth to put a lock on the win.

Lindsay Reed doubled in two runs for Hojack’s in the bottom of the fourth, but the run rule was in effect and Jr. Wilson’s walked away with the win.

 Sara Flansburg finished the night going 4-4 with a double, Chasity Chinn went 3-4 with 3 runs scored, and Jodi Zacher, Jaclyn Guzdek, Penny Roath, and Crandall all finished with two hits apiece.
