Newfane pushed across a run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to nip visiting Albion 6-5 in a Niagara-Orleans League baseball game this afternoon.

Tyler Oudette singled in the winning run for Newfane which improves to 2-0.

Earlier, the Panthers built up a 5-1 lead by scoring four times in the first inning, highlighted by a two-run double by Cade Littman, and once in the third.

However, Albion came battling back to knot the contest at 5-5 by scoring three times in the fifth and once in the sixth.

The Purple Eagles did get a runner to second in the top of the seventh but couldn’t score.

The two teams will meet again at Albion on Friday afternoon.
