Wednesday’s snowfall was a record-breaker for April 21

The snow on Wednesday was a record-breaker for Buffalo and Rochester, according to the National Weather Service.

The 3.1 inches at Buffalo broke the record of 1.3 inches set in 1934. In Rochester, the 2.8 inches broke the record of 1.5 inches in 1978.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo said Medina recorded 3.6 inches on Wednesday. There was less snow closer to Lake Ontario with 2 inches in Lyndonville and Lakeside.

Today has started cold with temperature sin the high 20s. It is forecast to reach 42 today in Orleans County followed by a sunny Friday with a high of 57, a partly sunny Saturday with a high of 60, and a mostly cloudy Sunday with a high of 51.
