A frost advisory is in effect from midnight to 9 a.m. Saturday in Orleans County, the National Weather Service in Buffalo announced today.

The advisory also includes Monroe, Wayne, northern Cayuga, Oswego, Genesee, Livingston and Ontario counties.

Temperatures in the lower 30s will result in frost formation and the frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered, the Weather Service said.

People are encouraged to take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

Saturday is forecast to reach a high of 56 and be partly sunny with a slight chance for showers. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a high near 62.
