Medina nips Akron in OT in field hockey

Taking over second place, Medina nipped host Akron 1-0 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League field hockey game.

Medina improves to 7-3-1 while Akron slips to 7-4-1.

Lacey Kenward scored the game’s only goal for Medina with three minutes to go in the 10 minute 7 on 7 overtime period off an assist from Mary Flores.

Barker 5, Newfane 0
Barker, which has already locked up the title,  blanked Newfane (0-11) 5-0 to stay perfect at 11-0 in N-O action.

Ciara Gregoire scored two goals for the Lady Raiders as Rachel Hurtgam, Ginger Alexander and Natalie Bruning each netted one. Hurtgam, Katrina Clare and Serena Harris all had assists.

Roy-Hart and Wilson played to a 1-1 tie.

Miah Glena scored for Roy-Hart and Ivy Montgomery for Wilson

Roy-Hart is now 6-3-2 and Wilson 4-5-2.
