Albion splits with Akron in youth football

Albion took two of four games from Akron Saturday in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) action on Saturday.

Beginners Division
Akron 18, Albion 0
Jayden Rivera had 10 yards rushing and 3 tackles on defense for Albion.  Hudson Manella,  Brycen Potter and Landyn Galligan each had 2 tackles.  Potter also had a fumble recovery.

Mini Division
Albion 26 Akron 0
Garrett Jones had 15 carries 218 yards and 2 touchdowns for Albion..  Boe Preston had 27 yards on the ground and Rocco Sidari picked up 12.  Jonah Elsenheimer had a 5 yard TD pass to Jack Conn.  The pair also hooked up for a PAT.

On defense, Hayden Cowley had a 10 yard interception return for a TD to open the scoring.  Preston had 9 tackles,  Elsenheimer 4, Cowley, Conn, Edwin Dudley and Stryker Sanders each had 3 tackles. Thailer Seibert had a fumble recovery.  Elsenheimer a sack.

JV Division
Akron 13, Albion 6
Noah Harrison had 100 yards rushing, Jayovanni Ostrander had 74 yards, a touchdown and Wesley Olles added 34 for Albion.

Olles led the defense with 12 tackles,  Harrison 10, Nate Gibson 7, Ethen Cornick had 5 tackles and a fumble recovery. Joshua Schoeberlein also had a fumble recovery.

Varsity Division
Albion 13 Akron 0
Playing through a 0-0 halftime score and a second half full of rain,  Albion scored twice to win 13-0.

Kwame Riley had a 31 yard touchdown  and Makyell Walker added a 27 yard TD.

Auston Johnson,  Zarren Duffield, Johnathan Eibl and Walker all added 5 tackles. Jared Ostrander, Raekwan Riley, Kwame Riley and Seth McMurray each had 4.  Mason Lynch added 2 sacks,  Rylissa Lesczinski, Johnson,  Duffield and McMurray all had sacks.    Johnson also had an interception.
