Lady Bees surge past Lady Tigers in 2nd half

A goal in the first two minutes of the second half ignited Byron-Bergen to a 5-0 victory over host Lyndonville/Medina this afternoon in the Genesee Region League girls soccer opener for the Lady Tigers.

Melissa MacCowan broke a scoreless deadlock with a goal just two minutes into the second half for Byron-Bergen which then  broke the game open 10 minutes later when Miriam Tardy tallied two quick goals. The Lady Bees then locked up the win on tallies by Kelsey Fuller and Juliana Amesbury.

In Niagara-Orleans League openers, Wilson blanked Barker 6-0 as Skylar Munnikhuysen scored 2 goals and Leia Cloy 1 in the first 13 minutes and Akron nipped Newfane 1-0 on a second half goal by Kara Sequin.
