Albion Raptors surge past Victor

Rebounding from an early 1-0 deficit, the Albion Raptors came roaring back to defeat host Victor 5-2 Tuesday evening and improve to 6-3-1 in the girls U17 Division of the Rochester District Youth Soccer League.

The Raptors knotted the contest at 1-1 as Claire Squicciarini scored off a corner kick by Mariah Plain.

That ignited a big Albion scoring surge as Abby Scanlan netted three straight goals, all off assists from Plain, to vault the Raptors into a commanding 4-1 lead at the half.

Victor did cut the deficit a bit to4-2 early in the second half but Scanlan answered back with the clinching goal for the Raptors off an assist from Alexis Creasey.

The Raptors next host division leading Chili at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

U18 Division
Medina/Lyndonville 1, Canandaigua 1
Medina/Lyndonville likewise rallied from a 1-0 deficit to earn a 1-1 tie with host Canandaigua in  U18 Division game.

Willow Smith scored the M/L goal off an assist from Lexi Wolck.
