R-H grad earns collegiate diamond honors

Roy-Hart graduate Al Xapsos recently completed a strong freshman year at Finger Lake Community College by earning both All Conference and All Region baseball honors.

Xapsos, an outfielder who banged out 58 hits in 54 games for the Lakers, has been named to both the Mid State Athletic Conference All Star team and to the second team of the All-Region III squad.

On the season, he hit .345 with 10 doubles and 34 runs batted in.

A Math major, he played together with his brother, Andy, a sophomore infielder, who was injured part of the season. Andy is majoring in Sports Studies.

During their scholastic days at Roy-Hart, Al and Andy Xapsos both earned first team Niagara-Orleans All-League honors in both their junior and senior years.
