Hits proved hard to come by as top seeded Lyndonville was upended 1-0 by No. 7 Bolivar-Richburg in the Section V Class C2 championship baseball game this afternoon at Dwyer Stadium in Batavia.

Bolivar-Richburg scored the game’s only run in the top of the seventh inning on a bases loaded walk. Two other walks and a single loaded the bases to set up the threat.

Lyndonville left runners stranded at second and third with less than two out in both the fourth and fifth innings.

The contest was a pitchers duel as Bolivar-Richburg’s Logan Bess allowed only 2 hits and struck out 17 while Lyndonville’s Zach Johnson, who went six and two-thirds innings, gave up 3 hits and struck out 14.

Lyndonville finishes the season at 17-2.
