Lady Rams romp in B2 sectional softball opener;Lady Eagles roll to open D1 playoffs

Exploding for 11 runs in the first inning, No. 2 seeded Roy-Hart romped to a 26-1 victory over No.10 Southwestern in a Section VI Class B2 opening round softball playoff game this evening at Vets Park.

Jamie Bower belted a grand slam home run and a three-run homer, Shelby Wolf a grand slam homer and winning pitcher Mallory Steiner a two run homer to highlight the Lady Rams attack.

In the circle, Steiner gave up only 3 hits and stuck out 11

City Honors 14, Medina 8
No. 4 seed City Honors outlasted No. 5 Medina 14-8 in the quarterfinal round of the Section VI Class B1 softball playoffs.

Abi Neuman, Ashlee Howell, Lacey Kenward and Brandi Guild each had two hits for Medina.

In a Class B2 game Fredonia shut out Wilson 4-0 and in Class C2, Maple Grove blanked Barker 18-0.

Kendall 17, Avoca-Prattsburg 3
The long road trip south was certainly worth it as No. 10 seed Kendall rolled to a 17-3 victory over host No. 7 Avoca-Prattsburg in the opening round of  the Section V Class D1 playoffs.

Brittney Marks had 3 hits, including 2 doubles and 4 RBIs, Julie Coble 3 hits and 2 RBIs and Kelly Mayes a two-run single to set the pace for Kendall which next faces No. 2 seed CG Fnney at 5 p.m. Saturday at Bishop Kearney.

In a Class C1 opener, No. 6 North Rose-Wolcott nipped visiting No. 11 Holley 9-8.
