Mustang stickmen face key division week
Medina returns to Class D Division lacrosse competition this coming week with a pair of key home games.
The Mustangs will host Wilson at 7 p.m. Monday and defending champion Akron at 5 p.m. Friday both at Vets Park.
Medina is currently vying with Akron for second place in the D Division standings which would earn the Mustangs home games for the sectional quarterfinals, and if successful, also for the semifinals.
Salamanca at 7-0 has first place locked up while Akron (3-2) and Medina (2-2) are battling for the runner-up spot. Wilson at 1-4 and Gowanda at 0-5 round out the division standings.
Medina will also visit Akron in the division finale on May 13 after visiting Gowanda on May 8.
Christian Silversmith currently leads Medina is scoring with 17 goals as his brother Mitchell Silversmith has 12, Chaise Prest 8, Tom Vasquez 7, Cayden Lilleby and Jacob McEwen 4, Tim Roy, Mark Reigle and Zach Blount 2 and Blaire Prest 1.
