6 Tigers place at B3 sectional championships
Photos by Cheryl Wertman – Lyndonville’s Ty Holmes captured the 131 lb. title at the Section V Class B3 wrestling championships hosted by the Tigers today.
Host Lyndonville had six place finishers at the Section V Class B3 wrestling championships today.
Ty Holmes captured the 131 lb. title to lead the Tigers group of place finishers. He scored a 12-3 major decision win over James Lamb (Byron-Bergen) in his title bout after earning a technical fall win in the quarterfinals and a second period pin in the semis.
The Tigers also had Chanse Amsdill (108) and Brody Hazel (145) both place third, Shannon Withey (145) fourth and Justin Holmes (108) and Jesus Reyes Rosario (152) fifth.
Byron-Bergen, which repeated as the tourney’s team champion, had a trio of individual weight class winners including Brendein Galves (145), Roman Smith (152) and Solomon Smith (160)
Class B1
Holley-Kendall had four place finishers at the Section V Class B1 championship which was held at Wayland-Cohocton.
Will Kruger (160) placed second, Hunter Jewell-Smith (285) fourth, Jared Ostrander (190) fifth and Brenden Eichas (131) sixth.
Chanse Amsdill placed third for the Tigers at 108 lbs.
Justin Holmes took fifth place for the Tigers.
