6 teams share honors at girls All-League meet

The winners included Lauren Gaughran, Alexandria Martin, Annemarie Aber and Meghan Mietlicki from Newfane; Kayla Hagen, Emily DiMayo, Alex Hill and Jenna Heiser from Roy-Hart along with Hannah Heil (Medina), Michaela Pantano (Albion) and Julia Diebel (Akron).

Regular season champion Newfane took first place in four events to lead the way at today’s annual Niagara-Orleans All-League girls Individual swim championships held at Newfane which saw each school capture at least one event.

Newfane’s quartet of Lauren Gaughran, Alexandria Martin, Annemarie Aber and Meghan Mietlicki won both the 200 Freestyle Relay in 1:49.21 and the 400 Free Relay in 4:00.65.

Gaughran was also an individual event double winner taking the 200 Free in 2:08.2 and the 500 Free in 5:45.29.

Barker’s Sara Gendrue was also a double winner in the 200 Individual Medley in 2:28.8 and the 100 Breaststroke in 1:12.82.

Medina’s Hannah Heil captured the 50 Free in :26.54, Albion’s Michaela Pantano the 100 Butterfly in 1:06.18 and Akron’s Julia Diebel the 100 Backstroke in 1:03.95.

Roy-Hart’s foursome of Kayla Hagen, Emily DiMayo, Alex Hill and Jenna Heiser won the meet opening 200 Medley Relay in 2:01.47.

Hagen also placed second in the 100 Backstroke and DiMayo in the 100 Breaststroke as did Diebel in the IM, Aber in the Butterfly, Mietlicki in the 100 Free, Madison Harris (Akron) in the 200 Free, Elizabeth Furmanski (Albion) in the 50 Free and Alexis Cramer (Akron) in the 500 Free.
