A winter storm watch has been issued for Orleans and Niagara counties for Wednesday from 3 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo said heavy lake-effect snow is possible and there could be snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches.

“Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the morning commute on Wednesday,” according to an advisory from the Weather Service.

Southern Niagara and southern and central Orleans are expected to see the greatest snow amounts.
