Four teams share N-O first team honors

Lead by a pair of players from undefeated (12-0) champion Newfane, a total of four schools are represented on the first team of the annual Niagara-Orleans All-League boys basketball squad.

Newfane is represented by senior Evan Myers who scored 354 points and grabbed off 126 rebounds, and junior Ben Dickinson, who had 245 points and 196 rebounds.

Rounding out the first team are Roy-Hart senior Jamel Johnson Jr., Akron senior Drew Romesser and Barker junior Luey Castro.

Johnson Jr., who was named N-O Player of the Year,  scored a Roy-Hart single season record 511 points and grabbed off 252 rebounds.

Romesser scored 278 points and Castro 156 points.

Newfane has also placed two players on the second team, Nate Snow and Landon Braman, both juniors.

Albion has a trio of second team honorees in Amari Jones, Javon Jones and Aquil Gaffney, all seniors.

Completing the second team is Akron freshman Ben Gerstung.

Barker – Brad Cantrell (Sr.), Aiden Mescall (Jr.) and Aidan Voss (Sr.)

Medina – Aiden Pitts (Sr.)

Newfane – Konnor Courtemanche (Jr.)

Roy-Hart – Nate Beyer (Sr.) and Remington Albee (Jr.)

Wilson – Matt Fox (Sr.), Mike Bubar (Sr.), Logan Wolfe (Sr.) and Blake Martin (Jr.)
