Medina split four games with Pembroke in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) action action Saturday at Vets Park highlighted by  a four overtime contest.

Beginners
Pembroke 38, Medina 37 (4 OT)
In what would turn out to be the most action packed game of the day, regulation was anything but.

Pembroke started with the ball, but Kaydence Russaw striped the ball from the running back and ran it 40 yards for the opening TD and a 6-0 lead. After a good stop on defense, the Ponys started on a long drive that took most of the rest of the first quarter and ended in a 1 yard Cayden Dubois TD to make it 12-0.

The second quarter was all Dragons as they scored a pair of TDs to make it 12-12 at halftime.

The second half was all defense as neither team could get very close to scoring and we headed off to OT where things finally get interesting.

Russaw scored the first TD from 6 yards out, but Pembroke answered back and we went to a second OT.

Eastin Hodgins scored on the reverse the next time they had the ball from 20 yards out, but again Pembroke finds the endzone and it was 24-24 after 2 OTs.

Zach Allen ran in from 12 yards out for the third score and Russaw got the XP run but Pembroke came right back to tie things up to make it 31-31 after 3 OTs.

The teams switched up and Pembroke went first in the 4th OT and scored and got the extra point. However, Russaw answered with one more TD to cut the lead to one, but the XP failed and the Ponys fell in a heartbreaker for their first loss of the season, 38-37.

Minis
Medina 2, Pembroke 0 (forfeit)
In Minis play the undermanned Dragons came in for some 9 on 9 football despite the outcome already being determined. The Colts got three touchdowns by Damareon Shine and two by Ja’Keir Taylor. Luke Hungerford and Phillip Molina had extra points..

JV
Medina 12, Pembroke 0
The Medina Broncos had a great defensive performance in the 12-0 win .After a first quarter of defensive stands, Kendrick Russaw broke off a 68 yard TD run to make it 6-0 in the second quarter. The Broncos had a long drive that ended in some trickery as Zia Dix handed off to Caliyah St. Louis on the end around who then handed off to Marcel Lamar on the reverse and he took it in from 6 yards out to make it 12-0 at half time.

The second half was all defense as Russaw, Zach Graham, Darrell Shine and the rest of the defense as well as an interception from Julian Session sealed the win.

Varsity
Pembroke 13, Medina 7
In another very good defensive game as neither team was able to get much going on offense. Pembroke got the only TD of the first half to make it 7-0 while the Stallions were stopped at the goal line as time ran out in the half.

In the fourth quarter the Stallions finally got some offense as Matthew Jacobs broke off a long TD run of 68 yards and MacKoy Hall ran in the XP to tie things up at 7. The Stallions then stopped the Dragons but Pembroke got the ball back and drove late and with time running out got the winning score.
