ALBION – There were 374 residents in Orleans County who cast ballots in early voting, in nine days prior to today’s election.

That is 1.6 percent of about 23,000 registered voters. The busiest day was Oct. 30 when 61 people voted at the early voting polling site at the Board of Elections. On Sunday, the last day for early voting, there were 54 voters.

The new option is part of a state mandate to allow greater access to the polls. The state is providing Orleans County with $27,251 towards the cost of implementing the reform.
