3 Medina soccer teams score wins

Medina’s U12, U17 and U19 teams all scored victories Wednesday in Buffalo and Western New York Soccer League action.

Rebounding from a 4-2 first half deficit, the U12 Medina Soccer Club rallied 4 goals to upend the Tonawanda Warriors 6-4.

Medina got rolling in the second half as Wyatt Zelazny scored on an assist from David Gonzalez, Jack Whipple found the back of the net on a direct kick, Cole Seefeldt scored aided by Samuel Kingsbury and Aiden Owczarczak tallied on an assist by Seefeldt.

In the first half the Warriors registered an own goal as Jackson Moreland tallied the only other Medina goal.

Zachary Fike registered the second half shut out for Medina as Xander Payne and Roman Heinsler keyed a strong defensive effort.

U17
Medina 6, Hamburg 3
Getting goals from 5 different players, Medina’s U17 team opened the season with a 6-3 win at Hamburg.

Goals by Elian Gonzalez, Ethan Leonard and Nick Albone gave Medina a 3-1 lead at the half.

Trenton Jones then netted 2 goals and Adam Cifelli 1 in the second half to help Medina lock up the win.

Medina next hosts Roy-Hart on June 1 at 6:45 p.m.

Medina 3, Newfane 1
Medina’s U19 team opened its season with a 3-1 victory over Newfane at Vets Park.

Steven Anderson scored 2 goals and Brian Anderson 1 to lead Medina.
