3 charged after investigation into cocaine distribution and sales in Medina

The followed were charged after a search warrant this morning at an Erin Road residence in Medina, from left: Milton Hinckley IV, Monica Steen and Leah Gerety.

MEDINA – Three people are facing felony charges for allegedly being part of selling and distributing cocaine in Medina, the Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force reported this afternoon.

Law enforcement executed a search warrant this morning at 222 Erin Rd. in Medina and seized 12 grams of cocaine, cash, scales, packaging and other drug paraphernalia.

The following, all of 222 Erin Rd., were arrested:

• Milton Hinckley IV, age 32, who was charged with one count of criminal sale and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (both class B felonies), 1 count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree (class C felony) and 3 counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree (class A misdemeanors).

• Monica Steen, age 53, who was charged one count of criminal sale and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (both class B felonies), and 1 count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. (class a misdemeanor).

• Leah Gerety, age 26, who was charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (class B felony), one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree (class C felony), and three counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree. (class a misdemeanors).

Hinckley was held at the Orleans County Jail for CAP Court. Hinckley last week in Orleans County Court pled guilty to one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and is awaiting sentencing which is scheduled for Sept. 30. He could face up to two years in state prison in that case.

Steen and Gerety were both issued appearance tickets. Both are to return to Ridgeway Town Court on Sept. 7 at 9 a.m.

Also assisting in the investigation was District Attorney Susan Howard, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office, the Orleans County Sheriff’s K9 Unit and Orleans County Probation Department.
