27-pounder now leads Fishing Derby

There is a new leader in the Rotary Fishing Derby, the third time the has been a change at the top since the derby started on Saturday.

Larry Duckworth of Corfu on Monday caught a 27-pound, 8-ounce Chinook salmon, to knock a 24-pound, 11-ounce salmon from the top spot. The biggest fish caught during the derby, which ends Aug. 18, wins a $4,000 grand prize.

There is $8,800 in prize money up for grabs in four divisions – salmon, rainbow trout/steelhead, brown trout and lake trout.
