A Rochester man, Kevin Kelly, leads the Rotary Fishing Derby after the first day with a 24-pound, 4-ounce salmon.

The Rotary Derby started on Saturday and continue until Aug. 18 with $8,800 in prize-money available, including $4,000 to the biggest fish.

Th leaderboard includes the top five fish in four divisions – salmon, rainbow trout/steelhead, brown trout and lake trout.

Dane Ballard of Aberdeen, Md., leads the salmon division with a 23-pound, 8-ounce salmon, just ahead of a 23-pound, 8-ounce salmon caught by Garrett DeFilipps of Holley. DeFilipps leads the $200 bonus award for largest fish caught by an Orleans County resident.

The Albion Rotary Club has been running the derby for more than 30 years. For more on the derby, click here.
