2019 in Review: #5 Purple Eagles capture Division 3 football championship

Albion captured the Class B Division 3 football title with a 4-0 record defeating Springville 50-8, Depew 14-11, Lackawanna 21-0 and Olean 49-26.
It marks the third straight year that the Purple Eagles have won shared the division crown.
Albion then advanced to the Section VI Class B final for the first time since 2002 by edging Tonawanda 17-14 in the quarterfinals and Olean 21-14 in the semis.
The Purple Eagles dropped a 34-20 decision to Maritime in the sectional title contest at New Era Field.
Albion also defeated Medina 23-6 in the annual regular season ending rivalry game.
Niagara-Orleans League schools overall had a big season on the gridiron as Newfane won the Class B Division 4 title and Wilson the Class C North crown.
