ALBION – Despite the rain and gloom on Friday, it was a remarkably fortunate day for Hospice of Orleans. The morning began with a cheery visit from the Orleans Correctional Facility Make a Difference Day Committee, which presented a check for $300.

The group has dedicated themselves to raising funds for several agencies throughout Western New York throughout the year.

Later in the morning, Brittany Dix, development coordinator for Hospice of Orleans, was invited to Saint-Gobain Adfors and was presented with a check for $600. Betsy Bennet shared that throughout the year funds were raised by employees on the floor to assist local agencies through events such as a Valentine’s Day Basket Raffle or even a much enjoyed garbage plate fundraiser.

This particular $600 though was part of a designation from the corporate office who then asked the Bay Action Committee of Saint-Gobain Adfors to select agencies within Orleans County for the funds. In addition to Hospice, 3 other organizations were chosen including: Office for the Aging, PAWS, & Community Action.

The Hospice board and staff are incredibly thankful for the generous support of the people that work at both Orleans County Correctional Facility and Saint-Gobain Adfors.
