MEDINA – There was some spring break fun at Orleans County YMCA on Wednesday when 140 children and adults attended a Free Family Roller Skating. The event is held twice each year at YMCA in Medina.

“It gives the youth as well as their parents a free, fun activity to do while on school break,” said Pat Crowley, director for Orleans United Drug Free Communities Coalition.

Pastor Tony Hipes, president of  Medina Area Association  of Churches, said, “MAAC is more than willing to help fund this family friendly event and is hoping they are able to continue doing so.”

There were 138 nonperishable food items collected at the event and distributed to the Medina food pantries.

“It’s a great way for these youth to give back to their community,” Crowley said.
