130 pounds of trash collected in shoreline cleanup

KNOWLESVILLE – Girl Scouts in Troop 82007 pick up trash at the Canal Widewaters on Saturday along Presbyterian Road in Knowlesville.

The Orleans County Soil & Water Conservation District held the annual shoreline cleanup on Saturday and volunteers collected 130 pounds of garbage.

A group of employees from the U.S. Department of Agriculture picked up litter and trash at the Lake Alice Dam in Carlton.

Soil and Water employees also were out picking up garbage along the shoreline. They include, from left: Melissa Rivelis, District Technician; Megan McAnn, District Technician; and Katie Sommerfeldt, District Manager.
