Hawks advance 7 matmen to state qualifier
Seven Holley-Kendall wrestlers earned top six place finishes today at the Class BB championships held at Byron-Bergen to advance to next weekend’s Section V state qualifier.
Second place finishes by Erick Balys (145), Jeremy Browe (152) and Braxton Leary-Hart (170) led the way for the Holley-Kendall contingent.
In their title matches Balys lost 3-0 to Andrew Norrison from Marcus Whitman, Browe 2-1 to Mario Vazquez from East Rochester and Leary-Hart 15-0 to Matthew Gaiser from Alexander.
The Hawks also had Jayden Pieniaszek (106) place third, Tristyn Moyer (99) and Chad Miller (285) fifth and Dylan Spellan (170) sixth.
