Veteran quartet leads Raider netters

Four returning senior All-League players anchor the lineup for Barker which is prepping for Monday’s scheduled Niagara-Orleans League tennis opener at Akron.

That veteran quartet includes Sean Benoit and Tristan Payne, who both earned first team N-O All-League honors, Brian Hefferon, who was a second team selection, and Erik Herian, who received honorable mention.

The Raiders are also counting on seniors Patricia and Luz Bautista, juniors Emma Duffy and Paige Fudella, sophomore Nick Fazzolario and freshman Casey A’Hearn.

“We’ve got a good group there” said Coach Mark Scofill whose Raiders went 7-5 in N-O competition last spring. ” I expect us to do well. We’ve got good experience at the three singles spots with Sean, Tristan and Brian but we need to be able to pick up some doubles points.”
