Suspect evaded police in foot chase

MEDINA – This morning at approximately 7:46, the Medina Police assisted the NYS Parole with an attempt to apprehend a warrant suspect, Willie A. Drisdom, 38.

A foot chase began in the area of the 300 block of Park Avenue, and headed southbound. As the pursuit was heading towards the Oak Orchard Elementary School, the school was placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure.

Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Medina Police Department, Orleans County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police and New York State Parole, set up a perimeter in an attempt to locate the subject.

After a thorough search of the area, law enforcement was not able to locate the suspect. The lockdown was lifted at 9:49 a.m.

Drisdom is described as being 5 foot, 6 inches and 190 pounds.
