Raiders surge past Tigers; Lancers top Eagles

Pulling away in after the first quarter, Barker posted a 63-30 victory over host Lyndonville this evening in a non league boys basketball lame.

Leading by a narrow 14-13 margin after one quarter, the Raiders extended the lead to 31-18 at the half, Barker used an 18-12 third period scoring edge to up the advantage to 49-30 at the three-quarter mark. The Raiders then blanked the Tigers 14-0 in the final stanza to close out the win.

Nick Brandt scored 16 and Preston Harris 10 to lead the way for Barker as Austin Sullivan added 9, Malik Smith 8, Evan Ecker and Zach Richbart 7 and Dan Ober 6.  Harris scored 5 in the second quarter while Sullivan had 5 and Brandt 4 in the third.

Matt Hess  led Lyndonville with 11 as Zach Johnson had 9, Ricky Forder 6 and Nathan Dillenbeck and Nathan Poler 2 each.

Barker is now 2-4 and Lyndonville 1-3.

Elba 65, Kendall 56
Building up a commanding 17 point half-time advantage, Elba went on to defeat host Kendall 65-56 in a Genesee Region League boys basketball game.

Colton Dillon scored 19, Jon Boyce 14 and Grayson Huntington to pace the Lancers which led 34-17 at the half and 47-32 at the three-quarter mark.

Nate Warters tallied 19, Hunter Menze 13, John Rath 12 and Mason Kuhn 10 for Kendall. Kuhn completed a double-double with 10 rebounds as Warters and Menze both had 8 boards and Rath 9 assists.

Newfane 56, Nichols 50
Kyle DeVoogel scored 23, including six threes, and Max Weber added 16 to lead Newfane to the 56-50 non league win over Nichols.

The Panthers trailed 29-25 at the half.
