Thomas Preston

Thomas “Tom” E. Preston Sr., 76, of Ocala, Fla. and formerly of Batavia and Medina, passed away at home peacefully in his sleep on June 10, 2020, under Hospice care for cancer. Born May 18, 1944 in Batavia, he was a son of William D. Sr. and Mary (Moynihan) Preston.

Tom graduated from Batavia High School, class of 1963, where he lettered in football, baseball and basketball. He worked for the former Niagara Mohawk (National Grid) as a hot stick foreman for 36 years, retiring in 1999. Tom later relocated to Ocala to enjoy his retirement in the sun, golfing and playing cards with his many friends. He still followed the Buffalo Bills and the New York Yankees. He attended Our Lady of The Springs Catholic Church.

Tom is predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Francene; children, Michelle, Traci and Thomas Jr.; stepchildren, Joseph Stawicki II, Tara King and David Cassidy; grandchildren, Ashley (John) Stawicki, Deanna (Cody) Blount, Antonio Watts, Dylan Taylor, Nicholas Harding and Logan King; great-grandchildren, Asher, Rhoan and Thorn Blount; siblings, William D. Preston Jr., Anne A. Preston, Kathleen (Terry) Zeh, Mary “Margy” (Michael) Callahan, Barbara Preston, and Janis Preston.

A memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
