Shirley Bane

Shirley A. Bane, 68, of Lockport, passed away on Sat., Aug. 24, 2019.

Born on Nov. 24, 1950 in Lockport, she was the daughter of the late Howard L. and Laura May (Tanner) Bane. She graduated from Holley Central School in 1969 and attended Gram Junior College in Boston, Mass. Shirley was employed with the federal government in Virginia, and that’s where she met and married her former husband, Robert Edwards. Together, they raised two sons. She returned to Western New York and worked for various law firms in the area. Shirley enjoyed spending time reconnecting with her family, especially with her granddaughters.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Aaron (Danielle) Edwards of Lockport and Matthew (Zahra Ramdhany) Edwards of Alexandria, Va.; granddaughters, Mikhayla and Lexi; siblings, Loretta Lonnen of Waterport, Robert Bane of Lyndonville, Steven Smith of Churchville, Scott (Josephine) Smith of Rock Hill, S.C., Chris (Barb) Smith of Churchville, and Eric (Janice) Smith of Spencerport; many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Shirley is predeceased by her foster parents, Donald and Nancy Smith; and her siblings, John Tanner, Clara Bane, Howard Bane, Arnold Bane and Herbert Bane.

Relatives and friends may call on Sat., Aug. 31 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St., Medina NY 14103, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery.
