Raymond B. “Corky” Glathar

American flagRaymond B. “Corky” Glathar, 72, died Oct. 27, 2021 at his home following a long illness.  He was born May 5, 1949 in Rochester to Raymond F. and Betty (DeLorme) Glathar and had lived in this area most of his life.

Corky was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, enjoyed his coffee and desserts and was an avid reader.  In addition to his enjoyment of riding motorcycles, Corky was also a former stock car racer.  He loved to watch and feed the birds in his yard, enjoyed traveling to Tucson, Ariz. and dearly loved his dogs, “Dottie” and “GiGi.”

Mr. Glather was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Glathar.  He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Gail; children: Josh Glathar of WA, Chief Warrant Officer Zachary Glathar of Watertown, Leslie (Rick) Merrill of Albion, James Kobielski of Albion; brother, James (Sharon) Glathar of Rochester; sister, Mary Jo (Graham) Austill of Australia; grandchildren: Dominik, Kailey, Elizabeth, Jordan, Ethan; many nieces and nephews and his best friend, Colin Zimmerman.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion, Wed., Nov. 3 from 2-4 p.m. where Military Honors will be presented following the close of visitation at 4 p.m.  Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
