Medina teams earn academic honors

All six spring Mustang varsity teams receive state Scholar/Athlete Team Awards

TENNIS – Compiling a sizzling composite average of 97.921, members of the Medina tennis squad have earned a New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar/Athlete Team Award. In front are Andrew Houseman, Abigail Griffin, Lyla Leno, Sarah Granchelli, Jadiel Flores-Medina, Ray Paull, Tobias Kiebala, Aeddon Cayea, Brandon Harris and Andrew Fuller. In back are Mike Cardone, Tristan Sanders, Kristian Snyder, Brian Bogan, Carson Zgoda, Nick Bogan and Xion Baes.

GIRLS TRACK – Members of the Medina/Lyndonville girls track squad have compiled a composite average of 96.513 to earn a NYSPHSAA Scholar/Athlete Team Award. In front are Grace Flores, Hannah Sones, Kathryn Bilicki, Guin Schalck, Sarah Cochrane, Morgan Roach and Paige Wagner. In back are Lexi Sargent, Madison Holland, Emma Gardner, Martha Gardner, Alex Markle, Stella Russo and Elizabeth Newman. Missing from the photo are Brooke Keiffer, Rachel Keiffer, Kennedy Smelski and Elexa Taylor.

BOYS TRACK – Compiling a composite average of 95.638, members of the Medina/Lyndonville boys track squad have earned a NYSPHSAA Scholar/Athlete Team Award. In front are Federico Rosario, Ethan Leonard, Caelen Holland, Daniel Heil, Jacob Bensley and Jack Hill. In back are Emmanuel Sones, Ryan Leffler, Matt Cochrane, Austin Heil and Zach Harris. Missing from the photo are Austin Brown, Johnathan Pietraffsa and William Bellan.

SOFTBALL – Members of the Medina softball squad have compiled a composite average of 92.215 to earn a NYSPHSAA Scholar/Athlete Team Award. In front are Haylee Cogovan, Ryenn Oliver, Allisha Scroger, Destiny Satkowski, Allison Bensley and Davina Birch. In back are Nicole Blount, Amanda McCauley, Emma Ambrose, Brittany Schultz and Bailey Allen.

BASEBALL – Compiling a composite average of 90.466 members of the Medina baseball squad have earned a NYSPHSAA Scholar/Athlete Team Award. In front are Kyle Herman, Tyler Ames, Jason Hellwig, Brennan Zinkievich and Lawson Fenton. In back are Quentin Adkins, Brad McPherson, Izaiah Rhim, Justin Morgan and Shane Freeman. Missing from the photo is Gage Grabowski.

LACROSSE – Members of the Medina lacrosse squad have compiled a composite average of 90.314 to earn a NYSPHSAA Scholar/Athlete Team Award. In front are Greg Husung, Jake Cotter, Ian Joseph and Brendan Luthart. In back are Bryce Bellan, Aaron Feltz, Tom Winters and Adam Cotter.
